Matt’s home office has gone through multiple changes over the years and I’m happy to finally share it with you all! If you’re keeping tabs, this room was previously my office, then a guest bedroom. We decided to do away with the old wallpaper and add a fresh blue accent wall with some help from Dutch Boy® Paints!
Before
The Paint
I went to the local Menards store to check out the Dutch Boy® Paints 2022 Color Trends. I actually don’t use a lot of blues in my home, but Over The Moon immediately grabbed my attention. It’s a subtle blue that could be mistaken for a gray without being too gray.
I chose the Dutch Boy® Platinum® Plus paint in the flat sheen for this project. I prefer matte or flat finishes for most projects because I love the way they look and they are easy to touch up. As mentioned previously, the coverage was fantastic and frankly a lot better than other paints I’ve used in the past. Last but not least, the Twist & Pour container was mess-free and so convenient—you don’t have to worry about grabbing a slotted screwdriver at the last minute!
The Moulding
Before painting, we created a simple picture moulding design on the wall. Links to the moulding, adhesives, and nails can be found in the Materials section below.
