One way I’ve been keeping touch with my friends is through virtual game nights. It’s a great way to socialize while social distancing! All you need is a video conference platform, such as Google Hangout or Zoom, and a separate screen or device to play the games. Here are some awesome games we’ve tried so far!
1. Cards Against Humanity

Max Players: 6
We all know what this is about! Cards Against Humanity isn’t family friendly but is perfect for a group of friends. Have each player grab 7 cards from the white deck and drag it to the bottom rectangle. The cards in that region will visible only to the individual player. Each player will drag their card(s) of choice to the middle. The judge will flip the cards and pick their favorite, and the winner will take the black card.
Update on 4/14/20: The game has been renamed Remote Insensitivity.
2. Skribbl.io

Max Players: 12
Skribble.io is a draw and guess game that is family friendly! Each player will take turns drawing out a prompt and the rest of the players will guess what it is. Click the “Create Private Room” option and share the link. You can also enter a random room by yourself through the “Play!” option.
3. Drawing Evolution on AirConsole

Max Players: 16
AirConsole made their games accessible for FREE via code 9172020 until March 31, 2020! We tried several games on this website over Thanksgiving but found this to be the most entertaining. It’s like playing telephone by drawing, and always ends up in laughter.
Update on 4/16/20: The free code has been working past the March 31 end date!
4. Drawful 2

Max Players: 8 (+ audience)
Drawful 2 is a drawing game with a family friendly option. Each player takes turn drawing out a prompt, and the rest of the players guess what it is. Then they vote for what they think was the actual prompt. It’s normally $9.99 but is currently FREE (as of 3/28/20) on several platforms, so go grab it now!
NOTE: The host needs to use the screen sharing option on the video conference platform to stream the main screen.
Update on 4/16/20: Drawful 2 is now $5.99 on Steam.
5. The Jackbox Party Pack 3

Max Players: 8 (+ audience)
This is my personal favorite even before social distancing! It’s a perfect game for parties and hangouts and honestly worth the $14.99 (as of 4/16/20). It comes with 5 games but Quiplash 2 and Tee K.O. are the two we play the most.
NOTE: The host needs to use the screen sharing option on the video conference platform to stream the main screen.
Quiplash 2 is a gem. Players give their funniest answers to the prompts and vote for their favorite answers. The game will be as funny as you make it, so go wild!
Tee K.O. is similar in concept, but you start by creating your own drawings and phrases. Players then create T-shirts from the pool of drawings and phrases they’re given and vote for their favorites. Trust me, it’s hilarious.
